2009 Cruising Logs

This years crop of cruising logs is a fine cross section of some of the more adventurous sailing Port Edgar folk get up to.  All four logs make interesting reading.

These sorts of accounts are not essentially competitive in nature and depending what criteria you use any of them could be the "winner".  But since I must choose, then on balance this year winner is Fiona Harrison.  This is after much consideration, the consensus of second and third opinion and despite the fact that I was one of her crew and am mentioned in dispatches.

Hopefully her very readable account will inspire others with wee boats to expand their horizons.

Photograph Competition

Liz Tulloch of Yachting Lifeagreed to judge the new photgraph competition and wrote

"There were lots of very good photos this year and  it was quite difficult deciding. After a lot of deliberation, Willie's Pre-dawn on the Forth Bridge emerged as winner. It's unusual to see a dawn picture. Second place goes to Charlie with Mary helming SeaPod"

William Mills is the winner with this stunning pre dawn image of the Forth Rail Bridge
