For us to be the busy and active we want to be, we should see three key themes underpinning what we do, namely:
- We should be a club noted for the warmth of its welcome. We want to be an open door for any and all boating related activities. Whilst yacht and dinghy racing, along with cruising, will continue to be at the heart of what we do – appealing to a wider audience and bringing about wider participation will be fundamental to our future development. In practise, this will mean making the club more attractive to the many other berth holders at the Marina, to those seeking to learn about boats and boating and to those who simply use the marina as their stopover. In summary, and in a word, ’participation’ will be central to what we do
- We should be a club that makes the best of what we have. Whether that means the time and effort of our members, the resources at our disposal or the waters around us, we should ensure that we look critically and creatively at what we are setting out to do
- We should be a club which encourages folk to enjoy being on and around boats safely.
