Cruising Log Competition Winner 2004

Congratulations to Mary Wilson on winning the Millenium Quaich for the best cruising log with her log of 'Day sailing to Connemara' on nthe yacht Madog.

The competition was judged this year by Jane Scott of the RYA (Scotland), who said

"I loved this log - it was hugely entertaining, with just the right amount of nautical information, and background information. I especially enjoyed Bhreacan's contributions, and the excuses that his owners gave for trips to the local establishments.

The chart at the beginning of the log was very helpful to those of us who have never had the opportunity to sail to Ireland, along with the information on how they decided to best enjoy the cruise, and the small mishaps on the way. It was good to know that I'm not the only one who makes the occasional mistake. The photographs also helped to show the venues, and the magnificent scenery along the way.

I really enjoyed reading all of the logs, but this one made me laugh a lot, and made me wish I had been on their boat - and I don't do cruising!"
