The information here is intended to be the same as that contained in the OOD Handbooks contained in ring binders located in the Clubhouse, the Race Office and the Starters Hut. One of these ring binders may be borrowed for reference a week before ones race duty.

  • Boat in distress in shipping channel: Contact Forth Navigation on Channel 71 or 0131 555 8877

  • Race Officer should, if necessary, radio yachts to standby or assist yachts or dinghies in difficulty

FLAGS

+ 1 Sound Signal

Individual Recall ( X flag )

This flag is raised with a sound signal, when boats are over the line at the start - AND you can identify the boats.

The flag is removed when all boats have come back and started correctly - OR must be removed at 1 minute before the next start, without a sound signal.

 

+ 2 Sound Signals

General Recall ( 1st Sub )


This flag is raised with 2 sound signals when unidentified boats are over the line at the start.

When the race officer is ready to restart the race then this flag is removed with 1 sound signal ONE MINUTE before the warning signal of the recalled class.

 

+ 2 Sound Signals

 

Postponement (Answering Pennant)

This can be used at any time before the Start Signal.

  • Use if all is not ready
  • Use if anything goes wrong during a countdown
  • Give two sound signals when raising


+ 1 Sound Signals

  • This is removed ONE MINUTE before the first signal
  • Give one sound signal when removing
