Every boat that races at Port Edgar is expected to serve as OOD (Officer Of the Day aka Race Officer). OOD duties are listed in the calendar in the Handbook and are also listed below. Inevitably changes become necessary to the published list. If you find you are unable to act as OOD on the selected date, it is your responsibility to arrange a swap with another boat. When you do this you should let the OOD Manager know. Also expect to be contacted by the OOD Manager for confirmation a week or so before the selected date. (The OOD Manager is actually one of a team comprising the fleet captains.) However please don't contact them just to say you can't do your OOD duty, except as an absolute last resort. The new PEYC Race Officer Manual is available on the web site and in hardcopy. Review the manual, duty sheet & checklist beforehand; make sure you're at Port Edgar in good time & with enough helpers; arrange to have at least one person per class start. The table below shows the name of the OOD (boat or person) for each date in the racing calendar. The Confirmation column indicates whether the OOD Manager has confirmed the duty with the OOD. The last two columns indicate when the table was last updated and by which OOD Manager.
