Mix and Match provides a service to match yacht racing crew looking to sail with skippers and yachts needing crew. This help makes sure that boats that are short of crew can still race and that anyone that wants to sail can get out. We also use the club 707s when necessary.
All you need to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org saying you would like to be added to the mix and match list and complete the following crew experience form. Crew Experience Form. This helps us inform skippers of the kind of experience you have if they ask.
About 3 days before each race everyone on the list is then sent an email asking if they would like to sail in the upcoming race. If you can’t race there is no need to reply. If you do want to race then reply to the email promptly to say you would like to race. A similar email is sent to skippers or skippers can just email crew requests to email@example.com directly.
The day before racing crew are matched with yacht/skipper and both parties are informed. Most skippers meet crew in the clubhouse about 1 hour before the start of the race but some skippers will let you know they prefer to meet on the boat.
If for some reason you are unable to come then it is your responsibility to let the skipper know.
If you have any questions about mix and match then let us know by email firstname.lastname@example.org
