Free Beer
Over the last 15 years a lot of work has been done to restore the ancient pier at Culross and it is now a popular destination for visitors- but not yet for sailors! Newhaven Seafaring Spirit
Seafaring Spirit is a free community festival hosted by Newhaven Coastal Rowing Club to celebrate Newhaven's deep connection to the sea. There will be boat launches and rowing races to music, storytelling, and hands-on activities - something for everyone. PEYC is happy to help support Newhaven Rowers. Thursday Evening Cruising in 2025
PEYCs Thursday night cruising programme starts on 1 st May. We look forward to welcoming members old and new onto the water. We will mix and match boat owners and crew so that new members get the opportunity to get out on the water and skippers get a full crew Cruising sessions tend to be quite relaxed, either up or down river as the tides allow. Start of 2025 Season
Racing at PEYC starts on Saturday March 29 with the first 3 races in the Dinghy Easter Series and continues on Wednesday April 2nd with the first of the Yacht Easter Series evening races. A cruise programme is being generated as is a diary of mentored sessions on 707s and on Eurobo. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the start of the 2025 sailing season.

PEYC AGM
The PEYC AGM was held on Feb 5th with 39 attendees. The highlights of the meeting were news of an increase in membership to 438, and that we now have six affiliated clubs. We have also changed the PEYC fleet with a new RIB, an upgraded 707 and a plan for a new small fin keel cruiser. After agreeing a very modest increase in subscriptions, a new committee was elected with Linda Cooper staying

Prize Giving Evening
The prize giving evening for the yachts and dinghies will be on February 19th and will be at an Edinburgh restaurant, which we have taken over for the evening. This is Ignite, an award winning curry restaurant in the West End near Haymarket, website here: Ignite . We have the restaurant for the whole evening and we will be handing out the personalised PEYC wooden plaques to those prizewinners who are at the meal.

Winter Talks: Tall Ships Jan 23rd
The next in the series of winter talks is scheduled for Thursday January 23rd at 7PM. Emma Wadee is the Project Manager for Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025, and will share details of the planning behind The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025 which returns to the city for the first time in nearly 30 years from 19-22 July 2025. PEYC Forth Ports Visit
On Friday 10 th January, Linda Cooper & Jim Scott welcomed a visit to PEYC by Richard Littlefield, the newly appointed Marine Compliance Officer for Forth Ports, based at Grangemouth. As well as his professional maritime experience, he has sailed dinghies and yachts; in fact he started sailing Bosun dinghies with the Sea Cadets out of Rosyth and Port Edgar.
